Meet Viktorija

I’m Viktorija, Vika to friends. I grew up in Riga, Latvia, studied aeronautical and astronautical engineering in England and earned a PhD in materials science. Then I spent ten years as a failure analysis engineer, figuring out why things break. After nine years in Bay Area, California, I now live in Munich, Germany with my husband and our two boys, an hour from the Alps.

The mountains have always been where I feel most alive: multi-day treks, backcountry skiing, and even paragliding. Patagonia, Alaska, the Canadian Rockies, Kyrgyzstan and the Eastern Sierra are among my favorite places. Our boys have come along since they were babies, so I know what it takes to travel wild with kids.

Trailhead Adventure brings it all together: an engineer’s eye for detail and a deep love for wild places. You get a trip that feels effortless, and the places you visit get travelers who care.
